About Us

Established in December 2005 (then as Anchor Bay Entertainment) Defiant Screen Entertainment is an independent, all rights distributor of feature film and television product in Australia and New Zealand.

A management buyout of the Australian company in March 2015 saw Anchor Bay Entertainment Australia become Defiant Screen Entertainment Pty Ltd.

Following the retirement in June 2024 of then owner and Managing Director, Marilyn Greig, the company was acquired by the existing management team of Glenn Casey, Geoff Doyle and Justine Butler.

The Defiant Screen Entertainment catalogue consists of TV Series, including the hit show ‘Narcos’, plus documentary and feature film content including the successful Nic Cage western ‘The Old Way’, Mel Gibson’s ‘Dangerous’, ‘The Iron Mask’ starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, Megan Fox’s ‘Till Death’, the serial killer thriller ‘The Postcard Killings’ and ‘Braven’ starring Jason Momoa.

Glenn Casey – Co-Owner and Director – Finance & Business Affairs

Finance Director Glenn Casey has over 30 years’ experience as a finance professional in the entertainment industry. Working predominantly in home entertainment, Glenn also has experience in music, theatrical distribution and live theatre. Glenn joined Defiant Screen Entertainment in June 2013 following extensive tenures at Paramount Home Entertainment and Universal Pictures. In 2015 he worked closely with then Managing Director, Marilyn Greig, to aid her management buyout from U.S.based company Starz LLC. On July 1 2024, following Ms. Greig’s retirement, Glenn became a shareholder and co-owner of Defiant Screen Entertainment.

Geoff Doyle – Co-Owner and Director – Operations & Acquisitions

Geoff is a highly creative and experienced entertainment industry professional. Having performed marketing & production roles, across all distribution channels, for both major studios and independent distributors, Geoff oversees all Defiant’s operational functions including creative development, authoring, production and inventory management. With his in-depth film knowledge, Geoff also manages Defiant Screen Entertainment’s content and acquisitions strategy. On July 1 2024, following Ms. Greig’s retirement, Geoff became a shareholder and co-owner of Defiant Screen Entertainment.

Justine Butler – Co-Owner and Director – Sales & Marketing

Justine has over 30-years sales, marketing and publicity experience within the entertainment industry following roles at Video Ezy Australasia, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. Bringing an ‘outside the box’ approach to the sales and marketing of Defiant’s content, Justine approaches every campaign creatively and with innovation to amplify the messaging and drive sales. On July 1 2024, following Ms. Greig’s retirement, Justine became a shareholder and co-owner of Defiant Screen Entertainment.

Alex Koncel – Sales & Marketing Executive

With a Master of Commerce in Marketing from Macquarie University, Alex joined Defiant Screen Entertainment in 2015. Alex has extensive marketing and sales experience from her previous roles with companies such as multinational healthcare company Sanofi, Ivy College, Philip Morris and 24/7 TV channel HSE24 in Germany. Alex provides innumerable support across all facets of the Defiant Screen Entertainment business.
